Angie Haze
Angie Haze joined Unity of Medina as our featured musician in December 2018. For nearly eight years, we have been blessed not only by her extraordinary voice and musicianship, but also by her willingness to share her heart, her stories, and her wisdom with our community.
Angie is an award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and storyteller. Her music has taken her around the world, and her work reaches far beyond the stage.
Music That Makes a Difference
Angie believes deeply in the power of the arts to transform lives. In 2016, she created The Bigger Picture Project, bringing her music together with students at Akron's Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts. Students explored her music through singing, instrumental music, dance, visual art, and drama—creating a collaborative production that celebrated the importance of arts education.
The project was later featured as a Western Reserve PBS documentary. Angie has said that the arts provided a sanctuary for her, and that she wanted to create that same kind of sanctuary for others.
Her commitment to community continues through performances and collaborations supporting peace, healing, equality, survivors, LGBTQ+ communities, food security, and other causes close to her heart.
In 2023, Summit Artspace recognized Angie as its Outstanding Artist in Music, celebrating her contributions to the Northeast Ohio arts community.
In January 2026, Angie stepped onto another kind of stage when she presented her TEDxAkron talk, “Extremism to Radical Kindness.” Her message invites us to consider how challenging experiences can become opportunities to rediscover who we are and how we choose to respond to the world.
Angie Haze is Awesome! What Else Can We Say? We Love Her!
Her soulful style, extraordinary musicianship, open heart, and commitment to community keep us coming back for more.
We're grateful that Angie has been part of the Unity of Medina family since 2018—and we can't wait to see where her music takes her next!
